I stand in my kitchen, determined to master the art of making a matcha latte using a matcha latte recipe. Memories of in New York City flood my mind as I retrieve the matcha powder from the pantry.

I measure out a teaspoon of matcha powder into a small bowl and add a tablespoon of hot water. I  am carefully whisking the mixture until the matcha powder dissolves completely, and there are no lumps left.

Meanwhile, I heat up a cup of milk on the stove, adding a teaspoon of honey for sweetness. Once the milk is hot but not boiling, I remove it from the heat and pour in the matcha mixture. I whisk everything together until it’s well combined.

Next, I grab my frother and froth the latte until it’s nice and frothy. The sound of the frother buzzing fills my kitchen. And I feel a sense of satisfaction as I watch the latte foam up.

Finally, I pour the latte into a mug and take a sip. The earthy flavour of the matcha is the perfect balance of bitter and sweet, just as I remember from my time in New York City. I close my eyes and savour the taste. Feeling accomplished that I’ve successfully followed a matcha latte recipe and created a delicious beverage from scratch.

As I sit at my kitchen table, enjoying my homemade matcha latte, I think back to my time in New York City. But it wasn’t just about the taste of the matcha lattes – it was the experience of being in these cozy coffee shops, watching the baristas work their magic. Feeling like a part of the vibrant New York City culture.
